Parts bigger than your stock

Long parts are split into joined segments#

If a part is longer than the stock, Cutlistor splits it into segments that each fit, and labels them in the diagram as (joint 1/2), (joint 2/2) and so on. That's standard practice for long shelves, rails and countertops.

The same applies in the linear optimizer: a 16′ rim joist cut from 12′ stock becomes two jointed pieces.
